About UMR

The Institute for Biostatistics and Informatics in Medicine and Ageing Research (IBIMA) is part of the University Medical Centre at Universitätsmedizin Rostock. The institute supports medical and aging-related research through expertise in biostatistics and medical informatics. It provides methodological guidance, data analysis, and research collaboration for clinical and biomedical projects across the medical faculty and beyond.

The biostatistics unit offers statistical consulting, study design support, and data analysis for clinical and epidemiological studies. With its growing team, including the newly established professorship in biostatistics, it strengthens evidence-based research by ensuring rigorous methodological standards and reliable interpretation of medical study results.

In the SP-EU project we are responsible for the methodological and biometrical standards as well as planning and conducting the analysis of the clinical RCT data.
