Motivating 2nd GA Meeting near Göttingen

From 18–20 February 2026, the SP-EU consortium gathered for a retreat-style General Assembly at the snowed-in Akademie Waldschlösschen near Göttingen, Germany. We focused on preparing the launch of the Randomised Clinical Trial (RCT) across all European hubs, advancing the Qualitative Study, and increasing the project’s impact via events and activities of the DisCo Stream.

Key discussions addressed practical implementation challenges – such as sustaining the engagement of general practitioners (GPs) and delivering high-quality link worker training – while staying centred on the project’s core research questions and generating meaningful results for the three target groups: immigrants, elderly people living alone, and LGBTIQ+ individuals. Highlights included Juliane Köberlein-Neu’s interactive session on developing a Logic Model for Social Prescribing and a memorable evening on the history of the venue with the founding father, Rainer Marbach.

The consortium also agreed on its publication policy and confirmed members of the Publication Use and Access Committee (PUAC) and the Open Science Ambassador (OSA). Warm thanks to all partners and Advisory Board members for a highly productive and inspiring retreat.
