The Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA University Lisbon) is a dynamic public university established in 1973, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, research, and societal impact. The Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública (ENSP-NOVA), or National School of Public Health, is a specialised unit within NOVA University Lisbon, focusing on postgraduate education and research in public health. Located in Lisbon, ENSP-NOVA offers a range of master’s and doctoral programs designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to address contemporary health challenges. The school’s curriculum covers areas such as epidemiology, health policy, environmental and occupational health, and health economics. Notably, its Master’s in Public Health program is internationally recognised, ranking among the top 10 in Europe for health economics and public health. ENSP-NOVA is committed to advancing public health knowledge and practice through interdisciplinary research, policy development, and community engagement. ​

In the SP-EU project, social sciences and humanities perspectives are crucial for the Co-Creation work stream, the randomised controlled trial (RCT), and the Qualitative Analysis work stream. The UNL team contributes vast expertise in international health and social psychology, epidemiology, and policy work to the consortium.
