About NASP

Founded in 2019, the National Academy for Social Prescribing (NASP) is a registered charity. Our purpose, or mission, is to champion better health and wellbeing through social prescribing by:

  • Improving the quality and range of social prescribing available to people across the country
  • Bringing together partners across a range of sectors to optimise the impact of social prescribing
  • Developing and sharing best practice and looking at new ways of funding social prescribing
  • Increasing awareness of the benefits of social prescribing and what good social prescribing looks like, by building and promoting the evidence

We are proud to be one of the leading organisations to share knowledge and learning about social prescribing across the world. Last year alone, we welcomed 200+ people for international learning visits from 21 different countries, to learn about developments in England and understand how social prescribing is solving complex challenges in healthcare. As a founding member and secretariat for the International Social Prescribing Collaborative, we work with international colleagues around the world to raise awareness, spread and scale efforts in social prescribing.

NASP’s role in SP-EU is focused on communications and dissemination to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are kept informed about the project and results. We will work closely with concentris and EuroHealthNet on these tasks to ensure a wide reach and impact of the project.
