About DSIH
The purpose of the Danish Society for Immigrant Health (DSIH) is to promote overall health (in the broadest sense) among refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers, and to contribute to better health services to reduce the increasing inequality in health and access to health care services. We aim to increase knowledge about health and illness of immigrants (both adults and children) in the public and among relevant organisations, institutions and authorities in Denmark.
We also promote research and education in the field and contribute to improving the health service’s efforts for prevention, diagnostics and treatment of illness in the new population groups in Denmark and among their descendants. The company provides a better basis for handling novel challenges and exploiting the opportunities that immigration creates. We aim to give the area a stronger profile and create an innovative and development-oriented forum for dialogue about the health and integration of immigrants and refugees.
