Boards
SP-EU is driven by a strong and inclusive governance structure – uniting expert leadership, external guidance, and community voices – to ensure scientific excellence and ethical compliance, effective implementation, and real-world impact. Together, we are building a collaborative foundation to make Social Prescribing (SP) a transformative force in Europe and beyond.
Executive Board (EB)
The Executive Board (EB) is the main leadership body of SP-EU. The EB has been elected by the General Assembly (GA) in the beginning of the project. The EB consists of one representative of the coordinator team (Charité) and one representative of the different SP-EU Work Streams, namely Co-Creation, randomised controlled trial (RCT), Qualitative Study, and Dissemination & Communication (DisCo). The EB meets more frequently than the GA, either in person or online, for close guidance and monitoring of the project’s progress.

Advisory Board (AB)
The Advisory Board (AB) is an independent consultative panel of experts which ensures ethical compliance and enhances the overall performance and scientific quality of SP-EU. The AB advises the General Assembly (GA), the Executive Board (EB), and the Project Management Office (PMO) upon request and provides non-binding advice as decision-making support. Members of the AB are cordially invited to attend GA meetings of SP-EU to monitor the progress within each work stream, assess the scientific quality, and provide constructive criticism and feedback. The AB also pays close attention to all ethical topics and tasks of SP-EU.

Implementation Board (IB)
The Implementation Board (IB) has been appointed before the start of the SP-EU project. The IB monitors and drives the effective implementation of SP-EU in Europe. It consists of well-connected professionals from countries that are not part of the consortium. The IB supports SP-EU consortium members in facilitating the transfer of knowledge and results to local communities, decision makers, and national policy makers within their own countries.
